Worthwhile to enjoy a lunch on the square before the 'Altes Rathaus'

The Town Hall of Passau is located close to the banks of the Danube. It actually consists of two or three buildings: on the one hand, the Old Town Hall with the 'Rathausturm' and the historic 'Rathaussaal' and, on the other hand, the New Town Hall. Since October 2007 also the former main customs office forms part of the Passau... More

As we walked thru the small side streets of the old part of Passau, we stopped to admire the Passau's Town Hall. On the outside are numerous paintings of large figures and scenes of the town. There is a large clock tower and on one part of the building you can see the markings of where the different floods have... More

We went by the Altes Rathaus in Passau as part of a walking tour and heard the history, saw the high water flood marks, but otherwise did not get to go inside because we were there early in the morning.

This old town hall is just beautiful, typical bavarian colors mix with a touch of Eastern European style. You can enter it from a very small entrance on the right side and admire some rooms. 2€

The Altes Rathaus is nice, nothing really special, but the high water marks on the walls, indicating where the floods reached, over the past 400 years, is amazing to see.

This is an attractive City Hall with stone tower which is adjacent to the river. It is worth a stop to see the high water marks from previous year's floods. It is worth a stop but you won't need more than five minutes or so. It is a good meeting point as it is visible from a large part of... More

Just off the river, the town hall not only records the time but also the high water marls of the all too frequent floods.

The town hall has a nice restaurant for a lunch or dinner. The clock tower has all the marking for each flood into the city marked by year and heights.

Right by the edge of the river stands this impressive tower dating back to centuries. It was obviously well constructed from hard stone and finished in a workmanlike manner.
