Unless you particularly enjoy old oil painting and particularly with religious motifs you will be disappointed with this place. The Rukokosaal is quite a sight for sure and the other highlight includes the St Catherine chapels which houses the religious paintings which has very impressive high ceiling. Overall we found Augsburg disappointing after other medieval towns along the romantic road.

I went to see the Sampling Klewan collection of Giacometti sculptures, Picasso works & De Chico surrealism works & was overall unimpressed with what was in the collection. The Palais Hall was the highlight of my visit. Magnificent, mirrored, frescoes & exhibited such extravagance. It takes time to really appreciate what is in this Hall. Gardens are pleasant.

If it were possible, I would give this most glorious of homes 10 stars. From the gorgeous garden, to the amazing artwork contained inside, to the most fantastic rococo ballroom I have ever had the pleasure setting my eyes upon, this is one of my favorite places I have ever visited. Definitely do not miss this fantastic attraction when you... More

City residence of banker Liebert von Liebenhofen with richly furnished rococo banqueting hall (1765-1770), today Germany's most significant baroque gallery

From the 17th Century, this baroque palace and museum is a must. Incredible collection of 15-18th Century masterpieces, most adjacent to a wonderful Rococo ballroom.

Only 7 euros so not too pricey for a short trip to see beautiful paintings and the Roccoco ballroom was magnificent! one of the best I have seen in Europe. And they let you take photos with no flash. The building itself was beautiful with the many rooms of different colors all in a row. Short stop to see this... More

The art inside this building dates from the 1500's and while mostly relating to the life of Christ is very interesting and well maintained, some obviously have been restored, but it is well worth seeing. the main "ballroom" is absolutely stunning with golden framework, ceiling paintings, candelabras....just stunning.

The Palais along Maximilianstrasse was built around 1770, and it has a very nice garden, a long row of rooms with paintings, before you arrive in the banquet hall, it is just fantastic, well worth a visit. They have many concerts here, please attend if possible, the atmosphere with a small group of musicians playing music 2-300 years old is... More

It really surprise us that we are allowed to take as many pictures as we want inside. It's really a good place for photo lovers especially at the hall. We were also surprise that the entrance fee was only EUR1 unlike what we've learnt from our travel book.

If you just visit the big hall, that could be already enough. It is simple bueatiful, beetwen baroque and rococo styles. But there are a lot more, German paintings, including Dürer Fugger portrait. It is worth to visit.
