This tower sits just to the left of Das Plonlein and it part of the iconic photos taken in Rothenburg. It is a lovely tower more ornate than some in the city and its gateway leads to another part of the city, where not as many tourists go. Don't forget to get a shot of it on its own while... More

What a great spot in an amazing town, Rothenburg. So many photo ops, this tower being on the top of that list.

I loved the whole town. But this tower is a must see. The history involved and the stories told by the guide were great. It is really great that most of this town survived the WW2 bombing. The tower is cool. The town is cool. Probably my favorite part of Germany.

Just like in the Fairy Tales from childhood, you just know that there is a golden haired princess up there.

My grandchildren thought there surely must be a princess up there, and a dragon to slay! Taking the town tour with them was perfect.

The overlook is nice on a clear day with no crowd so you can take advantage of the view. A crowded day with lousy weather....the tower was a mistake. I didn't take a single photo.

This is the clock tower to the left when you view from Plonlein. Going past this tower will lead you to the Spital Bastion.

Great view. Definitely worth the climb to the top. They do charge a small admission when you reach the top but it's worth it to get away from the crowds and see the city from up above. The view from the tower at the town hall is better so if you're only going to do one I would recommend that... More

Probably the tower, in general, is most noteworty for the beautiful Middle Ages building next to it. It is located on Spittalgasse (hospital lane) and the popular view is looking at the tower from hospital lane.

Wonderful view of the entire town from the tow. There is a person all the way at the top who charges a euro or 2, so be aware of that. there is actually a good amount of history and pictures from when the city was bombed during ww2. it was very interesting to see and read about. This is the... More
