This is a must do since you're here. It's why you come to Rothenburg. Of course, the walls are not OSHA approved. the stairs are steep and can be tricky, but the view of the city and the surrounding countryside is breathtaking.

The walk gives you a great view of the town. Not suitable for those with difficulty walking on uneven surfaces or mobility issues

By all means try this activity...you do not have to walk the whole way, but it is fun and a way to feel like you are back in the 1300s. Not recommended for people with a walking handicap.

We loved walking the wall. Great views. The path is narrow so you walk single file. Wear good sturdy shoes as parts of the wall are just a little uneven, like a cobbled street. Don't miss this!!

There are many places to get up onto the wall. I would recommend simply walking along the wall until you reach a staircase. There are plenty of these access points along the way.
