Great view of city

The view from the garden is amazing, if is clearly sky you can all Wurzburg. In the autumn is the best seasons, in my opinion.

The gardens are around the castle and are small and beautiful, but nothing very special. The view is probably the best one in Wurzburg. Once visiting Marienberg, just go outside it and visit the gardens too. It will take you around 15 minutes to visit it.

The Fürstengarten on the "bulk" of the old military position of the east side of the fortress Marienburg was built as a garden in the earlier 16th. century. The artistic terraces with its magnificently balustrades and also the both cascade fountains came out of the time of the Prince Bishop Johann Philipp von Schönborn (1642-1673). From this garden you will... More

This is a large place, we couldn't find it on our GPS but found it by sight as you can see it for miles on the hill. Covered by the Castle Pass, take the tour where you see the dungeon and hear the stories about the chapel, walk around the place on your own, very large.

We enjoyed our stroll through the gardens after visiting the Marienburg. There is so much to see and enjoy in Wurzburg but this was a favorite.

Walking through the fortress, this is one of the highlights of the visit up here. On a clear day, the views over the town are wonderful and once could spend a lot of time here. Most tourists aggregate in one spot, so there is always a chance to walk away and enjoy the views.

Beautiful, but not so easy to find. They form part of the Marienburg Castle. There is a passageway to the left of the church, which looks as if it goes nowhere, but follow it around and you will come to the gardens. Quite delightful with the best view of Wurzburg you can get.

This was an unexpected surprise for us when wandering around the fortress, suddenly you walk through an archway and find yourself in a beautiful garden with the most amazing views of the City! A must-do if visiting Wurzburg!

This was a very good surprise. Germany is like that, you must take your chances outside the regular tourist spots. We did not plan this visit, and everyone in our family liked it. The museum is very interesting, but the view is the best.
