We have had the pleasure of visiting Berlin 2X and touring Berlin with Berlin Experts which made all the difference. While we had Jeremy both times, we are certain we would have been as pleased with any of the professionals from Berlin Experts. There are many guides in Berlin, but NONE like Berlin Experts. The collective knowledge and voluminous research... More

Had an excellent day with Lynsey our Scots guide. Very knowledgable of the areas walked at a good pace to get everything in. Helped we had an ok day weather wise and that we were all happy to listen to her commentary.

I had two tours - one with Jeremy for Berlin and one with Robert for Sachsenhausen. Jeremy is a transplanted American who is knowledgeable, interesting and fun. He very much impressed on us how Germans do not say "sorry" for the past atrocities that occurred in WWII as that would allow them to move on and potentially forget, but instead... More

We went on November 24, 2016 and Jeremy was not available, so our guide was Robert Sommer. We spend the most splendid day in Berlin with Robert. Luckily for us it was a sunny day, so we got to walk all day long following and listening to Robert. Robert is a historian, and his passion for history is contagious. He... More

I felt there was too much advertising of other tours on offer. Some of the information was interesting but I wish I'd done one of the other tours involving some form of transport. There are go-karts, segways or even bicycles etc..

Our guide,Jeremy Minsberg ,was the key factor to getting the most out of trip to Berlin. His emphasis on Berlin's effort on transparency said so much about it's reconstruction. He knew how to pace it,giving us a lot of information and time to reflect. We saw the city through his eyes, someone who truly loves it.

My wife and I had never been to Berlin before. Jeremy is not only extremely knowledgeable, he's also very friendly and engaging, so it feels like a good friend is taking you around, not a "tour guide". He expertly tailors things to fit who you are and what you'd likely enjoy, so you can get the most out of your... More

My group spent 2 days with Jeremy exploring Berlin and it's fascinating history. When it comes to knowing the history of this city, Jeremy has definitely done his homework and then some. He complements the tour with historic photos and video from the very spots that we are standing on which brings the history to life in a way that... More

Jeremy by his own admission is a story teller and it is this aspect which makes his tours very engaging. Jeremy is very knowledgeable and can answer pretty much any question. We had asked for a tour covering WW11 and the Cold war and that's exactly what we got. We had walked some of the same route the previous day... More

We spent two days with Jeremy walking, riding the trains and covering a lot of territory. We learned so much, and really feel like we got to know and understand Berlin, its history and its people. Jeremy also gave us lots of advice and suggestions for the rest of our time in Berlin. We could not have asked for more,... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
