Obviously we are fated never to ascend the Funkturm! We have made numerous visits to Berlin in recent years, and have hoped to ascend the Funkturm. This radio tower (close to Kaiserdamm Ubahn station in the Western suburbs of Berlin) is much cheaper than the...More

It was a very enjoyable experience and cheap (5 euros per person). We visited the tower in the evening and there was no queue. There was a beautiful view from the top of the tower and there were hardly any people. Our German friends told...More

I have been up the Funk Turm (Radio Tower) several times when I lived in Berlin from 1982 - 1990. I tried to visit in 2007 and 2015 when we were attending Grune Woche, but being January the tower was closed. I tried again on...More

I decided to visit this tower because it had some history to it and who doesn't like a view. The first time I visited I was told it was closed to the public due to a private event being held there, so a good tip...More

This is THE Berlin tower to visit, not the Fernsehtrum. It costs 10 EUR less (5 EUR), much less crowded, you can be there as much time as you like. The altitude is not as high as the Fernsehtrum, but believe me, 150+ meters is...More

Stuck out on the west side of the city I don't think many tourists ever think about visiting here, but it's an enjoyable way to spend an hour or so at somewhere different. Built in the 1920's this radio tower allows visitors a chance to...More

From the middle of Berlin, you've to travel quite a bit to reach the Funkturm in the western part of it, just west of the #100 Autobahn and in the immediate vicinity of the Südwestkreuz. S-Bahn 41 and 42 stop close by. The Funkturm has...More

Went on Sunday morning about 10:30 a.m. When we got to the entrance where we were told the platform for the tower was closed and we couldn't go up to look out. What a shame.

At Alexanderplatz's TV Tower, it's expensive (13 euros) to get to the observation level, but at the 1920's Funkturm over in former West Berlin, it is a bargain at 5 euros. Of course, the Funkturm is older, smaller and not as elegant, but on the...More

This is a great spot to have a look across Berlin. It was about to get dark, and it was pretty grey, so the sight wasnt that good, but it was still great to be up there and retrieve some child memory. The lift has...More
