Was blown away by the sheer size of the Ishtar Gate. We went on a Monday afternoon and didn't have to wait at all to enter. A definite must-see when visiting Berlin.

When in Berlin you must visit this museum a fantastic collection. The gates of Ishtar and the gates of Miletus are worth the visit. Other highlights include the Aleppo room and other Middle East antiquities are also worth the visit.

This is a wonderful museum to visit in Berlin to give you a taste of the grand architecture of Miletus and Babylon. It also hosts a lovely Islamic art collection (the dome from the Al-Hambra was a surprise to me, but lovely). It is currently...More

Much of this museum is closed including the area with the Pergamon Altar itself. However, what is available to visit is quite magnificent.

If you only visit one museum, it should be the Pergamon. Locked away in East Berlin and inaccessible to Westerners for many years, the museum is now open for everyone. Ishtar 'S Gate of Babylon will amaze you, considered one of the seven wonders of...More

You've seen the photos but the first sight of the Istar gate is awesome; totally unexpected. It's huge and beautiful. The market gate on the other side is equally impressive in its size. The museum also has an impressive collection of Islamic and Middle Eastern...More

Poor system to enter, museum was packed, even with timed entry. Very unfriendly staff and guards. Wish they would streamline coat check/bag check.

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given

What is the best way to get into this museum if you have purchased an advanced ticket for it? Is there a special entrance so you don't have to stand in line with those who don't already have a ticket? Thank you.

Sorry about the delay. Hadn't noticed the question. In the meantime others have answered it very well. The one thing I might like to add is that you can get by quite well with English but it is very helpful if you can manage... More

Hello (: Are there any lockers in the Pergamon museum? Or a storage room where we could put our suitcases? And if not - where could we put them? We would be arriving the Pergamon Museum directly from the airport, complete with the luggage, as there are no lockers now in the Schonfeld Airport, and we only have a few hrs in the city. Tnx (: Michal
