First of all if you are seeing more than one museum on the island, it is worth it to get the museum island pass, it will save you lots of money. Second, the islamic art here is off the charts awesome! There are things telling...More

The Ishtar Gate is the current highlight, it's truly amazing. The museum is not as large as I expected. Just two floors are open at present . My friends and I spent about two hours there. While the Pergamon Altar is out of sight because...More

A fantastic world museum in the heart of Berlin. Definitely worth a visit if in Berlin!! Very big, so I would put aside at least 2-3 hours if you want to see everything on display. A bit pricey to enter, but most museums outside the...More

A world class museum. Amazing ancient Middle/Near East artifacts and terrific Islamic Art. Unfortunately, long lines - get a time pass if you can - and reconstruction work limits what can be seen.

Unbelievable installations of ancient temples, marketplaces, etc. We only visited the Pergamom. Allow a few hours.

A must see. Words cannot do justice to it. Can we comprehend the enormity and exquisite art of building at the time of Babylon.

Spectacular museum. Undergoing renovations while we were there but that didn't diminish our visit in any way. Standing under Babylons Ichtar Gate was a 'moment'. We have been to Troy and Pergamon, so seeing the items from these cities was a lovely rounding out of...More

Much of the museum is under renovation until 2019, so it is easy to combine a visit with the New Museum or the other museums on Museum Island for the same day. (We used a Museum Pass as we were interested in some of the...More

Although it is among the must-see attractions I think it's ticket was too expensive. You pay 12 euros for two floors of exhibits which have nothing to do with Germany. For sure they were marvelous but for God's sake 12 euros for stolen artifacts?

The concession charge applies to severely disabled persons and their caretakers. I do not believe there is a “senior discount”.

I don’t think it’s necessary to buy tickets in advance. Buy them when you arrive - in March there shouldn’t be a need to purchase ahead of time. Also , the audio tour which is included in your ticket price is one of the best... More
