This is an absolutely fantastic area of Berlin that we always love to visit. The architecture around here is eclectic and interesting and the transport links are just superb. I love to look at the molacule statue on the River Spree and pop into some of the many pubs, bars and restaurants here. The superb Pirates Bar is great for... More

The most famous location of this street is around Warschauer Station, around there you will find a very large portion of the Berlin Wall along the river kept with many graphities. At night there is a large concentration of young people due to the street music performances, bars and night clubs. There is also a very nice view from the... More

This is one of my favorite areas in Berlin. The outdoor art gallery in the wall is simply amazing, you can spend hours just walking and looking at wallart. The whole area is great to hang around.

We went here on a saturday and the streets were packed with party people. It seemed like it Wouldn't be difficult to find a good party no matter what. The Downside is that it was a little sketchy with a lot of drugdealers trying to sell in the middle of the street.

This area along the Spree has many popular restaurants and clubs. It’s a great location for walking along the waterfront and checking out the great mix of people passing through the area. Since I have come to respect the works of art from the artist, Jonathan Borofsky, I really enjoy the Molecule Man art work located on the Spree. It’s... More

This is a great young and modern area, with lots of scope for improvement. There is lots of construction going on. The area mixes history, with the wall and young businesses with small independent restaurants. Great bit of the city to explore.

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
