this is a small but nice quarter along the Spree. It is still quiet. but tourism is picking up. the quarter is going its own tuv^be station in the future - building it is going on so go there quickly. ;-)

This is the place which was originally the birth of Berlin. However nearly nothing remained after the WW II. The GDR reconstructed some old houses and the Nikolai Church. It is worth to visit.

Beautiful and peaceful part of Mitte and defintely worth a train ride to Alexanderplatx and a wander behind the Roten Rathaus to find it.

If you are looking to see what old Berlin looks like by coming here, you will be disappointed. The recreation of old German houses is not impressive, only the church looks authentic. The gasthaus food was disappointing too. On no account try the Harze cheese...More

This quarter is quite special: some buildings were moved here from elsewhere so that a seamingly unique mini-village could be created. I like the atmosphere and the German restaurants close to the water. A perfect stop for a lunch, while quickly grasping the sight.

The Nikolaiviertel was a lot smaller than I expected and although the square and the church were beautiful, I think this place is suffering from serious gentrification, there are more and more shops, fewer and fewer people. Anyway, I bet the views in summer are...More

I was slightly disappointed with this area of Berlin as I had imagined it would be larger and have more of a medieval feel to it. It was admittedly picturesque but seemed to be a little too "manufactured". The area around the church is very...More

This is a quiet little area in the middle of a major city. It has a village type feel to it, we loved it. There are a few shops and restaurants. The church with the twin spires is beautiful. Sit for a while with a...More

We left the hustle and bustle of Alexanderplatz and headed towards this lovely "old fashioned" area. Beside the twin spired church building were a few Christmas stalls, just gluhwein and sweets. The shops are really nice and there was a shop selling old fashioned wooden...More

Lovely looking part of Berlin. Small area of cobbled streets with lots of cafes, bars & restaurants around. Can also visit some places on the river. Lovely old church to visit too.

Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
