Berlin from below...

Descend with us! Experience the history of Berlin from an unconventional perspective! Since 1999, the Berlin Underworlds Association has been offering regular tours into some of the most important underground structures in the city. Although the majority of our tours are in or near Gesundbrunnen station in the north of Berlin, we also offer tours in several other subterranean complexes that are otherwise not publicly accessible.

We had a nice hour and a half in the company of a well spoken and seemingly knowledgeable guide, who took us around an old bomb shelter. The shelter itself is very bland, but the tour is spiced with some good stories and interesting artifacts that make it worth the time and cost.

We took tour 1 Dark Worlds and were lucky to have Sara as our guide as she was well informed and presented such a difficult subject well, and her English was excellent. Would definitely recommend this interesting tour, which was easy to find using the directions on their website - only negative is the archaic booking system. We made sure... More

We visited Berliner Unterwelten with our company in March 2017. We were lucky enough to have Sara as our guide. Our whole group gave so many positive comments after the tour. They really loved the information we got, and Sara found a way to keep things light despite the dark history. I would recommend it for anyone, but really loved... More

This was SUCH a powerful tour. It lasted 90 minutes and takes you into one of Berlin's WW2 bunkers. The tour guide was very well informed and good at relating the events. It really was a good tour that gave us some very interesting insight into WW2 from a Berliners perspective.

From the start when you visit the office next to the U-bahn station there is a friendly atmosphere around the place and the tour we chose, the Dark Worlds Tour we found the guide to be very informative and he injected a fair bit of humour throughout. The group consisted of many nationalities all who spoke English and the guide... More

As I am writing on my new travel guide BertaBerlin I just discovered this little beauty in Kreuzberg. The Fichtebunker is the only surviving large bunker of its kind in Germany. It was originally serving as a gasometer for the city's street lights. In world war II it was converted into a large bunker for mothers and children. The Berliner... More

I found this tour to be much more interesting than I thought it was going to be. It also made me think about things that I had never considered before in relation to what life must have been like in Berlin. You can select to have the tour in English, students get a discount and there are different tours so... More

Thought this was one of the best tours I've had. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. It was interesting to see the various artifacts and historical items they have curated to give the visitor a very insightful look into the time. Highly recommend this tour company.

After doing "trip 1" a couple years ago, I revisited tuh Berliner Unterwelten and particiopated in the "trim M". We had a wonderfull guide (Karl-Heinz), and we got so much interesting information. I can only recommend a visit. I took the tour in german, but the english tour is probably just as good.
