We love Berlin and feel at home on its streets. Our guides are Berlin-experts: experienced, entertaining & just as diverse as our guests. That's why we offer tours with personality & great quality since 2008.

We start our tours at the Nikolaiviertel in front of the Nikolai Church. That's just 5 mins. away from the TV-Tower/Alexanderplatz - it couldn't be more central!

1. BERLIN'S BEST - the perfect overview

2. POOR BUT SEXY - the alternative Berlin

3. THE WALL / THIRD REICH - history for dummies

My wife and I did the Goodnorning Berlin tour on bikes with Martin. Martin was a great tour guide and he was really passionate about showing us Berlin and telling us about the history of the city - we definitely learnt a lot. The bikes are comfortable and easy to ride - Martin always ensured we were safe at all... More

We had a free city tour with the fantastic Lizzy, it took about 3 hours, she guided us through the most popular touristic spots. It was well organised and she was very passionate about Berlin's history. Can only be recommended!

I had a great time during the bike tour. The weather was freezing but our guide Christian made the tour very enjoyable. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and funny. I learned a lot from him. It’s definitely one of the best ways to discover this city. Many thanks!

No one else showed up for our morning tour, so we got a 3-hr private tour. Actually, it was more like 4 hours, since our wonderful guide, Martin, was so knowledgeable about the history of Berlin and had so much to tell us. We learned a tremendous amount. In fact, we'd have been happy to take another tour with him... More

On reading other reviews about the fantastic experiences people had with this company, I am disappointed and sorry to say myself and my group of friends were not so lucky. We booked this tour on the first day of our holiday as a group of 8 friends. We had just landed in Berlin and were extremely excited about seeing the... More

Dear Sinhead, when I was in your age, mobile phones were invented. You could only call and text with them, they were not as distractive as the smartphones of today. Nevertheless it was already at that time considered impolite to use it while another person is talking to you. I pointed that out quite friendly at the beginning of tour... More

We can clearly confirm all the other excellent reviews for Free Berlin Tours. We took the Berlin's best tour on a cold December day. Our guide was Martin, who found the right "tone" for both the adults and our kids (10-16 years). This tour is in particular useful if you want to get an overview of the sights in Berlin... More

We had a great time on the Berlin Wall-WW2 3 hr bike tour. Karin (the Italian Berliner) was our guide and she was really passionate about her adopted city. While it was slowly getting colder and the sun was setting the city started to have an almost magical hue, the freezing mist added to the erie feel but didn't detract... More

Great "Poor and Sexy" tour with Johannes who had good stories and was very pleasant. We discovered areas of Berlin we would not have visited otherwise.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
