Currently under development so £7 for one small room of not very interesting items - honestly give it a miss and go to Habitat instead, we honestly though we had missed some rooms but no it is basically a large living room sized exhibition

I've always been interested In Bauhaus design philosophy so I was delighted to get a chance to visit the archive. It's a small museum with a good collection of artifacts and well presented history of the movement. We were also fortunate to catch an exhibition of the photography of Lucia Moholy from her 100 years of Photography, which included many... More

As a former design student I put the Bauhaus archive as one of my top things to do in Berlin. When I arrived I was greeted with a shabby building with minimal signage directing me anywhere. I paid my €3 and walked around what I thought was the first room, which had a number of artefacts, some I recognised from... More

I was fascinated by this collection. I hadn't realised that Bauhaus originated in the 1920s - the designs are still fresh, real classics

A great display of Bauhaus history and pieces, but staff very rude! Staff in gift shop lovely, very helpful and pleasant! But staff in the main gallery (downstairs) very rude. Aggressive with us when we took a photo (didn't know we weren't allowed). Rude and aggressive when we asked for directions and ignorant when we tried to make conversation! This... More

This is a great museum for art and architecture lovers. Great exhibits and good explanations in German and English. Particularly good gift shop with unique and interesting items for sale.

Rather small museum, wished there could be more Bauhaus works/designs on display, not worth the entrance. The gift shop was more interesting than the exhibit. Audio guide focuses more on the history of the Bauhaus school, less on the design/actual works.

We were looking forward to a trip to the Bauhaus museum whilst in Berlin but we're left very dissapointed. We arrived late due to not checking the opening hours before arriving (our own fault) but with 45 minutes we thought we should be able to fit in this small museum. We paid for tickets and made our way in. When... More

Interesting small museum, beautifully organised that displays the origins and evolution of the Bauhaus School. An excelente place for architecture and design lovers. The shop offers a wide assortment of beautiful products ranging from quite affordable to quite expensive prices.

If you like art and design it is for you. It's not very big and you can spend there about an hour. There are very interesting sculptures, photos, forniture etc. There is also nice store and cafe

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
