The stories of the people who escaped the east and the tales of bravery are undoubtedly worth telling - but there is just too much and it appears that they have just expanded to add new things without thinking about the layout or how it...More

Visited Checkpoint Charlie museum in April 18 and the staff at the desk were friendly. We paid €10 for 2 audio tours as well as the cost of entry and had already visited the black box museum (which had the main host of the history...More

The problem we had with this museum is that it doesn’t seem to know what it’s about - the Wall, the Vietnam War, Guernica, Ronald Reagan, Vietnam ...? It’s a confusing mess of rather tired-looking exhibition boards. Such a shame - there’s a fascinating story...More

We went in early April and the place was uncomfortably hot with no aircon. This was ironic as I am sure they made a point in the advert about having it so maybe it was broken? Either way it was very unpleasant walking around the...More

The museum is very good, but it takes a lot of time to go it throw. It is very much text to read, and some pictures and things. This museum has a very great potential to be very good, but it requires work and change...More

Seems small when you first enter but the first floor extends a long way. There is a huge amount to see and the ingenuity ( and desperation) of the escapees is astounding. Frightening that it was all so recent.

We visited here despite the mixed reviews and can definitely say we are in favour. Such a large museum with so much information, upstairs it has an area on Syria, Russia and the similar issues faced in Korea. Some amazing stories of escape from East...More

I visited this museum at night when there were very few people there. It was laid out in a way that didn't make any sense and had no signage as to which way to go next! The girl on the front desk was unfriendly, unhelpful...More

Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can
both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central
neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the
1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around
Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s,
rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a
carefree life here. An old hospital even became a
hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today

I would encourage you to try and fit in both the Topography of Terror and the Museum at Check Point Charlie. Each gives a good summary of different eras of Berlin's and Germany's history. The former is all about the Nazi... More
