Fantastic performance by experienced actors.

We saw "die Stühle" by Ionesco in the rehearsal room of the Berliner Ensemble. The cast was excellent and the direction was clever and subtle. It was a great experience.

Today was my first time at Berliner Ensemble but not the last. I was going to see Faust but when I arrived had the play already started. A lovely lady gave me a free ticket and said I could get in by the backdoor. The show was amazing although I don't know german that well but I loved it! I'll... More

We went to see Faust yesterday and any theater lover should see even not knowing German. Download the play from the Internet for free, read before hand and run to see the play. It is once in a lifetime performance. The stage, the music, the acting , the whole execution of the play is unusual and magnificent. Run to see... More

I got a ticket on the night for 5 euro, think it was a student ticket and the seat wasn't the best but it was worth it to experience being in Brecht's old theatre. There was an exhibition on as well which was free and interesting. Statue of Brecht outside. Very near Friedrichstadt ubahn.

The attendant will tell you that he/she is busy with the box office and cannot show you the inside. Therefore your visit will be limited to the hall. You might have a look at the program and at the old doors...that's it. Nevertheless, arriving there and looking at the little square (how many cigars has BB left there?) at the... More

Whether or not you're familiar with his work, Bertolt Brecht's plays influenced most every literary playwright in the 20th century and most of them would gratefully acknowledge their debt to him. Unapologetically political, critical and ceaselessly inventive, Brecht managed to alienate many of his German contemporaries, so much so that he earned himself a spot on Hitler's Top List of... My dear friend, Anna, introduced me to this place as there was a performance of Hamlet in this very theatre. As soon as I entered its doors, I was amazed at how marvellous the interior was, especially when I went inside the theatre. Going into the production of Hamlet, it was very interesting in terms of costumes and staging. The... More

Innovative regi and dynamic professionalism. A real top performance at one of the worlds top theatres. The Berliner Ensemble very seldom lets You Down, but this was high point. The perfomance was so forceful that much of the conservative segment of the Public left in the intermission. And the baroqe interior of the Place is always a study worth. The... More

I was on the "Shakespeares Sonette". I've never been such amazed by any play! Theathre's staff were absolutely kind and helpful. People who came there for a play were also very nice, talkative and charming. I totally recommend this place because I truly loved it!

Many of important work from Bertolt Brecht are presented here from original to adaptation. Some work of Robert Wilson also played here by German theater actor and actress. We have time to watch "Die Dreigroschenoper" or the three penny opera and Lulu. It was nice and well played. Unfortunately this summer their seat booked on line is some how not... More
