It does not matter if it is rainy or sunny. This is one of my favorite cafes in town and I got the chance to go for the first time during winter. And it is okay, because it is so charming that they have a fire place inside the cafe, so it's super charming and cozy.

The location is very central, but it seems miles away from the city. It is in the middle of green Tiergarten - very quiet and relaxing. In the summer there is a lovely beergarden right at the lake. Now, in fall, three warm heating ovens warm you up after a cold rainy day and candles set a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.... More

I was expecting the kind of cafe you find in the average English park but its a million miles away from that in sophistication. We just shared a perfectly chilled bottle of Gutedel Wassmer white wine but at 3pm ish on an October afternoon most people were enjoying the food and it was packed

Nice place to sit in the sunshine for lunch and a beer. I had pizza and it was fairly good, but the service was slow. There are a range of beers available on tap including Lowenbrau. There is plenty of seating available.

In good weather there is no better place in Berlin to enjoy a hearty lunch and a cool beer. Sitting on wooden benches and at wooden tables you can ingest the atmosphere of the beautiful Tiergarten. The Leberkaese with two type of salads is a delight

Went there for breakfast as it was recommended. The location is OK but I've seen better. Quite dirty and Tables hadn't been cleared form the night before (a Tuesday night). Very poor, slow service. There was us and one other couple, yet we sat for 10 minutes waiting to be served, before giving up and leaving.

: Beautiful location, great food but (literally) shocking service ID#: 392347468 Beautiful location especially in summer and renowned for pizza. On Saturday night we were told this meant a wait for pizza as very full. No problem, took 40 minutes. After a long day Sunday we went back (as it was near the hotel) and it was only half full.... Get a reservation if you want to be guaranteed a meal at Cafe am Neuen See. The beer garden is great, but they had already run out of food when we were there for an early dinner on a weekday. We didn't have a reservation, so the beer garden was about all we could try. The See next to the... More

We came here after we had arrived for a coffee and it hit the spot perfectly. Drinks were a little cold. The second day we came for breakfast and my dad got scrambled egg, it's fair to say it looked like rubber and like it wasn't freshly cooked. On the first day, staff were fabulous. For breakfast, our waitress couldn't... More

A very nice, unassuming beer garden + restaurant in Tiergarden park, situated beside a lake. The food was organic and delicious. Had spareribs and chicken with beer. The outside benches offered a better view, but the service in the restaurant was much faster. The candles by the windows added a nice touch. Went in the early afternoon. It got very crowded... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
