I have done many Segways but our tour here was simply amazing. He knew the place perfectly and was so accommodating and readily able to answer any question one would have. It's a great way to figure out the geography of the city and a fabulous way to spend a day. Highly reccomend!!

Having used Fat Tire in Paris I was not hesitant to book tours when we were in Berlin. The daytime ride, expertly guided by PB was interesting and informative. We even stopped of at a great place for lunch. We got to see far more of the history by bike that would have been the case on a walking tour. We... More

Despite it being below zero degrees we had a really fun and interesting bike tour. The tour covered a lot of the key sites in Berlin and gave us a good overview of where we wanted to explore in more detail. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable and it was a perfect family way to see the city. We felt... More

We had an amazing tour with Claudia. Even though it was winter it wasn't too cold as we went to a warm reasonably priced restaurant for lunch. Claudia was friendly, helpful and really knew her history! She gave us some great recommendations and knew all of the answers to our history questions. 10/10 recommend! Thanks Claudia!!

This tour was an amazing experience for me. I was a bit worried about being out of shape and not being able to keep up but the terrain is basically flat, we go at a lesiurly pace and the bikes with thier fat tires and side cushioned seats are easy to ride and comfort. We visited so many places that... More

Easy. Chilled. Fun. Knowledge. Cups of tea! We decided to go on a bike tour to get to know the city. We had a pretty large group, so it was divided into three (each group getting a tour guide) groups. We chose Neil from the UK as our tour guide. A fun, educated, patient, knowledgable tour guide who has lived... More

Booked this tour a few days before arriving in Berlin. Arrived early on the day, but was allowed to use the in house toilets and have a cup of tea! Very welcoming. There were about 60 people waiting for the tour (very popular), but we were quickly and efficiently separated into groups of 20; which was the perfect size. Bikes... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
