The Schlossbrücke is a pretty interesting bridge that links the Unter den Linden road with the island museums. It's a pity that it's currently undergoing renovation with traffic reduced to one lane. I can well imagine how magnificent this bridge would look when the repairs are completed. Arrayed on the balustrades of the bridge are many classically inspired sculptures of pedagogy feature Athena and Nike instructing youths in the art of war.
The views from the bridge are exceptional as you can see all the way to Gertraudenbrücke as well as many of the fine buildings of the Museum Island.

Visit Duration: 30 minutes.
Named after the nearby City Palace (Stadtschloss). The bridge marks the eastern end and is considered the most beautiful among Berlin's bridges. It is decorated with 8 Carrara marble statues showing the development of a hero from early youth to manhood, and then to death on the battlefield and the taking of his body to Olympus. The eight statues erected ate the below:
1-Athena Arms the Warrior
2_Athena Leads the Young Warrior into the Fight
3-Athena Protects the Young Hero
4-Athena Teaches the Young Man How to Use a Weapon
5-Iris Takes the Fallen Hero to Olympus
6-Nike Assists the Wounded Warrior
7-Nike Crowns the Hero
8- Nike Instructs the Boy in Heroic History

Schlossbrucke (Palace Bridge) is a short but attractive crossing of the Spree Canal that you can use when visiting Museum Island from Unter den Linden. The surrounding area is under much construction at this time but the bridge itself is nice to see and convenient to use.
This is a stone bridge built between 1821-1824 by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, who also created the lovely marble sculptures (1853) which are found on the granite pillars lining the bridge. These statues are scenes with origin in Greek mythology. As are the bronze railing which are decorated in the same style and quite interesting to see.
Note: Before crossing Scholossbrucke, you can take fine pictures of Berliner Dom with the TV Tower in the background and the marble statues of Schlossbrucke in the foreground. Again, there is much construction works in the area which obstructs good vantage points. However, that won't always be the case in the future.

This is just another bridge, connecting the lovely museum island to the rest of the city.
It's not particularly attractive, other than the statue located on it.

Lane restrictions to traffic etc, so not shown off at its best. But, the statues have all been cleaned and are impressive with no discolouration from pollution. This area will look good after the various facelifts being undertaken.

There are several bridges that bring you over to Museum Island but without a shadow of a doubt Schlossbrucke is the most beautiful.
Although a lot of work is being carried out in and around Museum Island the bridge is still more or less unobstructed, there are a set of eight statues adorning the bridge that look amazing but I think the best views of the bridge are not when crossing the bridge but from afar ,looks superb.
Easy to locate on Museum Island in the Mitte district of Berlin.
Well worth checking out if your planning a holiday to this most eclectic of cities.

This is a beautiful stone bridge, another one that crosses the river Spree and it takes you to Museum Island.
There are lovely sculptures to see along the bridge. There was some construction going around there during the time of my visit.

Found the history of the statues on this bridge fascinating. Sculpted by different artists they depict the journey of a young man to an early death. During the war the sculptures were hidden beneath the bridge in the water to protect them.

Not much to say about this bridge specially when there's construction all around it. I've seen more impressive bridges (Paris, Prague, etc). Nice route to take to get to and from the island and other attractions/sites.

I was visiting the museums and wanted to visit the cathedral, so I walked across this bridge.
It is lined with statues. An interesting spot for photos.
