Most important first, plan a whole day for the visit. It's huge and there is so much to see for kids as well as for adults. This is one of my favourite places to spend a day in Bremerhaven when it's raining outside.

This is one of those delightful museums with interactive presentations which help one learn new things. I learned about how the "cog" - the medieval transport that is one of the main features of the museum - was preserved. I was intrigued with a separate...More

I visited this place for 3 times and I think isn't enough for me. I like everything from this place. Has history, industry, encyclopedia from German Maritime. Is a place with warm people and you have to much to learn and think.

Definitely worth visiting, best part - in my opinion - is on German Boatyards and boat builders, lots of historical facts and memorabilia, then the incredible wreck of a very old barge found in the mud in the 1960 and perfectly conserved. The museum is...More

Thorough presentation of the history of boats and ships. The details are so impressive that your head will spin - be prepared to spend several hours in the museum buildings. Also you can clamber over several ships outside the museum that are being kept as...More
