The historic windmill is located next to the visitor center, where timed tickets and restrooms are available. Also, buses to and from Potsdam stop here, making it easy to use public transportation in the area.
The mill is a reconstruction and houses an exhibition about the history of the mill and some interesting information about processing of grain.

It was great to go inside the Windmill. There is bread that you can buy at the gift shop. I didn’t buy it but it was nice to see it was available. Also to walk through the different levels of the windmill and taking a look at the history

There has been a Windmill at Sanssouci since 1738, although the first structure was replaced by the larger Dutch Mill later in the same century. The current mill is a reconstruction of that mill completed in 1993 after the later original was gutted by fire in 1945. Milling does take place today, and apart from the mill itself, the site offers great views of the house and estate. On the day, we ran out of time before we could visit, but it is one of several excellent reasons for us to return.

The history and practice of operating windmills can be studied during a visit to this windmill on the grounds of Sans Souci Palace. Its the first time I saw examples of all the cereals that had been ground here and watched the great gears in action. Really worth the 4 euros to go upstairs.

You have to buy a timed ticket to visit the main house, so we visited the windmill while we waited, and it was great.

It is one of the best places I have ever been last monthes here in Berlin!
It is such a great opportunity, that you go upstairs and really see the working mechanism of a mil!!! I have never senn it before, it is so cool. And it is not just for presentation, it is really working and do a production!
And you can go outdoor and step right under the working mills blades — it is insane!!! So cool! Really, believe me.
So highly recommended. Also the price is 4 euro for adult and 3 euro if you have student card (ISIC is ok). The only bad thing, is they don't accept cards, only cash : ( But 7-8 EUR is ok to have.
P.S. on google maps you'll found it as «Historic Mill of Sanssouci»
P.P.S. also a good place, if it is typical rainy day in Berlin =) Here are warm and dry.

The carefully restored windmill was interesting to visit. The museum explains both its history and restoration, and more widely focuses on the use of wind up until today’s wind turbines. If you are waiting to enter the Sanssouci Palace, it’s a good place to spend half an hour and only costs 3 euro. But most of the explanatory panels are in German and not translated into any other language.

Title basically says it all. The views are wonderful from the top of the windmill and it's exciting to see it still working.
However, every single sign and bit of information - even health and safety warnings! - are only in German. There are no available audioguides or pamphlets.
Worth a visit if you have bought the all-inclusive Sansoucci ticket or speak German, otherwise give it a miss.

There's nothing wrong with windmills, this one just seems to be in wrong place, as all Sanssouci Park is dotted with palaces and similar buildings. It's located right in the middle beetwen large car park and Sanssouci Palace, it's the tallest building there, so you won't miss it. Lots of stairs, getting narrow with the height. Nice views on palaces and gardens and... that's pretty much it. If struggling with time - don't bother.
