On 350 m² we show more than 900 exhibits originated from the last 5 centuries. They give you details about the different possibilities of application and processing of raw spices. Moreover, there are approx. 50 kinds of raw spices you can smell, touch or even taste, if you like. The spices are partly exposed in original packing (sacks or chests) as they come from the different countries of origin, or on plates.

Small musuem bit dated but you can smell the spices. Not much info on English. Nice to see old grinding machines and be in old warehouse. Shop on same floor has great selection of spices and teas too. Not sure if they are connected.

Awful museum. It's dusty, the staff is unfriendly to the max, the exhibits are old and cheap. Total waste of money. BUT there is an amazing spice shop next door, that has nothing to do with the museum and it is exactly the journey through...More

Small and interesting museum for those spices and exotic smells. A bit amateurish but a very good start since it is the first of its kind.

Oh, this place is so great! It's a spice museum! You can find plenty of information about spices, their origins, their usage and how there were and are imported. The space is actually in the Speicherstadt, the largest warehouse district in the world, located right...More

Really not worth €5 entry. This can not be classified as a museum - it is more like an old store cupboard with really old displays. The spice shop opposite is far better, the employee much more helpful and the spices are fresh! Give the...More

Interesting little place. On entry you also get a free pack of black pepper, which was nice but unexpected! Very few of the labels are in English though.

We went here expecting an array of spices and history. First of all, the museum is very small. It's only one room, and although you can touch and smell the spices, we were done in about 15 minutes. If you are unable to read German,...More

My daughter found this unique little museum while I was visiting with her. It is in one of the warehouse buildings in the historic Speicherstadt district of the harbor. The museum is on the second floor of the building. There are no elevators so it...More

This small museum is advertised here, there and everywhere so you think it must be the place to visit but really it's quite run of the mill. Cost 5 euros to enter for which the ticket received is a 20g packet of black peppercorns. Despite...More

I was very disappointed by this small museum. Many of the exhibits were so old that they had no significant aroma left.
