The Hamburg Zoo Hagenbeck offers attractions for young and older people. We like to visit the zoo with our grandchildren, who are always fascinated by the great variety of animals, birds and all kinds of fish and sea creatures. Just come and visit the Hagenbeck...More

Lovely Zoo and a lot to see. Especially the Polar Bears and seals enclosure. Well worth picking up a bag of veg to feed the elephants and other animals. The Park is accessible from the metro station and Just a short walk to the main...More

A very well designed and maintained zoo, with the possibility to feed some of the animals (buy vegs at the zoo). Animals held mainly in nicely designed environments, pleasing for both the visitors and the stars themselves (I suppose). A feel good visit! Don't miss...More

Was once a famous place but now rather tired and not up to the standard for animal detention that visitors would expect. Most of the animals look very tired and bored. Time for a serious rebuild of move to a larger location where the animals...More

I love loved it here. The relationships between the keepers and the animals seemed genuine and compassionate, a big highlight was watching the bears catching fish in their mouths from a keeper with well practised aim. There is minimal fencing (I mean knee height) around...More

The zoo is wonderfully designed and very pretty. It is one of the only zoos that I can remember visiting that was not full of depressed looking animals swaying from side to side, and they all seemed very content. We went for one of their...More

A decent zoo, it earned an extra star for the cold climate exhibit. Half a day is enough to cover the full grounds. Food and drinks inside where very expensive.

The Zoo is private I do not think so considering the high pricing they have but the best would be to check directly with them

Hi,I would reckon the zoo is very friendly for strollers--it is Germany and they do things correctly unlike my country!. Hope you enjoy your visit--we spent around 5 hours there so leave plenty of time.

Hi, we didn't get to have anything near the zoo but I would recommend the Factory Hasselbrook.
