Fascinating insight to the old trading port

Buzzing with activity, well worth a walk around and to see the new opera house. This area is now renowned for the oriental carpets for sale

This area of Hamburg is famous and rightly so. Doesn't look like much but is definitely interesting and well worth a visit.

This is a lovely location if seen by boat from the port. Like the canals of Venice but more industrial!

We really enjoyed our stroll around the warehouse district. It borders the newly developed HafenCity and the juxtaposition of new and old is captivating. Be sure to stop in the Haden City Info center for a glimpse of what is to come. And amble to warehouse district being sure to look up as well as down to notice the unique... More

Historic buildings that are in fabulous condition on a network of canals. So much to see (and take photos of).

It is very interesting to know about the history of the Warehousing District. Approximately 20,000 people had to be relocated then, to make these warehouses. they were the lifeline for trading in Hamburg in those days. Now it is a UNESCO heritage site which houses many cafes, shops and Theatres. Only the carpet industry still stores their goods here.

It's a nice enough area to walk through but wouldn't class as a 'must-see'. Big old buildings around waterways and bridges but nothing special. Looked quite intimidating in places with 'Block' numbers on the old warehouses which seemed quite sinister. I must be missing something given the positive reviews....

This is a truly beautiful and unique district in Hamburg. It features an endless array of warehouses buildings, mostly separated by beautiful and picturesque canals. Some building are connected by bridges, and there are quite a few bridges you can walk over. The entire place is one big photo-op. Don't miss it!

Not much to see. Try to see it while on the way to other attractions but I didn't think you could spend more than 5-10 minutes viewing the brick buildings. The architecture is very nice though.
