St Bartholomew's sits on a site built, extended, destroyed, rebuilt and expanded upon from at least from the 7th century. As a non religious visitor I do love the tranquility and tangible atmosphere one gets from churches and this one has a fascinating historical connection with the Emperors and also holds some marvellous pieces including a fine example of the... Beautiful and the organ inside is awesome! Wished I can play on :) The tower entrance is 3€ and worth it for some sports climbing the super small inside stairway going upwards & will give you an idea of how Frankfurt looks from above :) Enjoy.

Loved the church and the history. But I had to laugh at myself, I thought climbing to the spire would be fun. It was not!!!! Small confined stairwell and it seemed to go on forever. And if you meet someone coming the other way, expect to get to know each other, intimately very quickly!!!! As I say, the tower was... More

Very beautiful church, located right in the heart of the old city centre. Free to visit, except for the tower, which has a separate entrance and ticket booth. Nice stained glass and interesting decor to see.

For about 3 euros you can climb up to the top of the tower, where you get a beautiful view to the Main river. But be aware that this is not recommended for the ones that do not like ot can climb stairs. You will be going up for around 15 minutes . The stairs only fit one at a... More

If not the history than the sheer beauty of this church should draw you inside. The outer parts of the Cathedral have been transferred into a museum, this way earning the curch some cash for maintenance. However this does imply that it's not in its original splendor anymore.

Very tall red brick church- surprisingly modern inside. Only building to survive the war bombings so had some interesting history that went with it. Situated right in the heart of old town it's a popular destination for tourists. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

A nice and quite cathedral with typical European architecture in the middle of city. The place is surrounded by buildings and thus the beauty of this place gets lost in that. Its a place one can visit if she/he is in Frankfurt.
