It is a bar/restaurant at the bottom. Then, to go to the restaurant you have to go up using the spiral stair and the bathroom will be on the top. Bathroom are not well separated. Fem./Masc. Do be surprised! This is Europe!
I am not sure if they have a ground level bathroom for people with mobility issues. Beer as usual great!

This landmark only takes a few minutes of your time, but it is beautiful in what is now a very modern and industrial city. It is a contrast between then and now.
At 47 meters, it is still one of the highest late Gothic gate towers in Germany. It was built between 1400 and 1428 by the cathedral master builder Madern Gerthener as a city gate of the late medieval Frankfurt city fortifications.
Today, the now glazed archway houses a café, which opened a few years ago. Events continue to be held in the fireplace room.

Really? Whose idea was it to put a restaurant in a 15th Century medieval tower??? But, it works! Right at the beginning of a busy entrance to the walking area of Frankfurt. You can't climb up bc it has been blocked off. Too dangerous, they told me... but I got a great pic of the stairs going up, ha!

The Eschenheimer Tor is a place in Frankfurt am Main on the northern edge of the city center, about 400 meters north of the Hauptwache.
The square was built around 1810 when the city fortification which was built in 1333 was demolished as well as its baroque bastions and the the fortification ring was conversed into a green area. In its center stands the preserved, most representative gate tower of the Gothic city wall, the Eschenheimer Turm (it was built Klaus Mengoz and Madern Gerthener, 1400-1428). The building srrounding the square dates from the 1950s. In the middle of the square, inaccessible to pedestrians, is a fountain designed by Hermann Goepfert in 1968.
If you look at the top of the tower, u will see a flag with nine holes. It is a well-known legend in Frankfurt am Main. The legend is about a poacher of the 16th century who was imprisoned in Eschenheimer Turm for nine days. He is said to have escaped the death penalty by shooting the number 9 in the weather flag of the tower. The truth content of the saga can not be ascertained.
Today it is surrounded by cafes, restaurants and serveral very nice boutiques.

We stumbled upon this cool midieval tower not knowing what it was and later learning that it was part of the old midieval fortifications of the city of Frankfurt and is one of the oldest original landmarks left in this city that was largely rebult after the war. It now has a restaurant at the bottom that has good apfelwein and delicious food, and it is actually cheaper than the restaurant across the street. That said, the menu is fairly basic (burgers and salads and pizzas- not really authentic German fare), but it is still tasty and good value. Bonus- the booths you sit in to eat are actually designed like porch swings, so you can swing while waiting for your food.

Located in the city centre, the Eschenheimer Tower is a very popular landmark. Forming part of the late medieval fortifications of the city, today it is one of oldest and most unaltered buildings in Frankfurt.

This 15th century tower was originally part of the midieval walls and fortifications of the "old town". It survived the devastating destruction of WWII bombings and now houses a restaurant. It makes for a nice photo op but not much else.

Yes, you can!
There is a fine restaurant on the ground floor of this 600+ years old tower. It is awesome. Highly recommend you to go there and have some food. After your meal, don't forget to take the round stairs to climb up the tower. You will find the rest room is located on the about middle height of the tower. There is a different view when you see the city through the protection fence out of the window. Enjoy it!!
