Beautiful ruined church

This church has lost it's roof and stands as a memorial to the dead of two world wars. It is very peaceful despite being a stone's throw from the Rathaus

I saw the church at day time during the tour of the city but it impressed me on Saturday night, on Easter eve , when a lot of people were standing outside holding lit candles and praying. Someone offered me and my husband and we shared this experience with gratitude and emotion. It's a pity I can't speak German

I stumbled upon this old church. It was so cool because they left everything as it was after being bombed.

Very touching place in the middle of Hannover, not far from City hall. A reminder of war and its victims, a place to stay for a moment during the walk and to think about peace for everybody, not just Christians. It is situated very conveniently on the way from the railway station to museums and city hall.

Visited here in December, sad reminder of the pain of war. The church was bombed during the war and it has stayed as a ruin ever since. Welll worth taking the time to see it.

Visited the ruins of the Aegidienkirche, an old 14th Century church that was destroyed by bombing in 1943 and left as a memorial and reminder of the impact of War, whilst walking around Hannover. The ruins are a fitting reminder of the wasteful destruction of War and are well worth a visit if in Hannover as you only need about... More

Very moving memorial of the second world war. They haven't restored it specifically for this purpose. Well worth the visit if in the centre of the city.

Located in the center of Hannover, this is not a fancy place but ruins of the Aegidienkirche. Standing in the ruins, there is a special atmosphere to this place.

A gloomy reminder of the consequences of WAR. We stopped by here on the red thread walking tour. It was mildly interesting to read the plaques and memorials to the victims of the war and see a bell presented by Hiroshima city Quite moving really
