A good place to rest and relax in the Square by the beautiful University building which is the oldest university in Germany

This is the oldest University in Northern Europe dating from 1419 and its set in a lovely square with the tourist office on the left hand sdie of the square as you view the University building

When you are in the main plaza in Rostock, behind the large fountain you will find this beautiful building. Have a look, because it's one of the finest buildings in town.

This university has existed for nearly 600 years. The numerous displays of art, taxidermy, and documents from the past, make for a very interesting tour.

A stop here was part of our professional group's walking tour. We learned some more about the history of this Hanseatic city while hearing about this main building of the university which is almost 600 years old.

Definitely an eye-catcher. Facing a small park and a fountain in the town center, where you can sit, relax and enjoy the great facade of the University of Rostock.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the exterior of the university's historic main building, in the centre of town, is beautiful. Pop into the zoology building nearby for a look at its taxidermy collection. The highlight here is the "arrow stork." When this bird was shot...More

You can't miss this red and white building in the center of the city. It is certainly one of the nicest in the old part of town and worth a look and couple of pictures when the sun is shining !
