We did not go into the church. There is a modest entry charge and we did not have enough time to do justice to a fee. However externally it is clear that the building has been renovated and impressive.

It's a huge church, and it is just marvellous inside, just as marvellous as other large medieval gothic cathedrals. . Unfortunately it has been allowed to fall in disrepair. it is now largely restored, but there are huge parts which have not been restored, due...More

As far as Churches go this is a nice one, as are all the churches in Stralsund. Unfortunately it was under construction when we were there, so we didnt see it in its fullest splendour.

This is a brilliant place to pass away an hour if your are into church architecture. Be sure to read the information board outside with details of the lightening strike.

A visit to this historic church will, at least might,... enlighten and/or enrich any visitor's visual or mental impressions whether religiously inclined or not. There's a lot to see, a lot to learn about things we, generally, do not often think about. In any event,...More

A very nice church with plenty of details to study. Enjoyed the Seven deadly sins on the top part of the wooden crenelation of the altar area. Not easy to spot and the postcard which shows the carvings are a collage of pictures. Look up...More

Quite amazing! This is the oldest church in Stralsund and was started in 1234! Having seen a few large churches on this trip, this one was a real surprise. It is in the middle of a restoration both inside and outside and the paintings and...More

Nice but seen it all before. If you have not seen it before then enjoy because it is worth it as an example of Hansiatic architecture.
