Old port

Very touristic place.... you will find fish shops and restaurant, bars and fashion shops all around. Price is higher than normal. But a nice scenery if you like boats and sea.

We very much enjoyed our stroll along this quaint strip of shops and restaurants which line the waterway at Warnemunde. We did two laps and then crossed the bridge and viewed from the other side. Even better view of the buildings.

A great place to eat and have a beer in one of the bars or eatery's, our cruise ship stopped here so people could take a day tour to Berlin, we stayed and went to Schwerin castle then visited Rostock then the rest of our permitted time wandering around this fantastic sea side town

From the Rostock Train or Cruise port walk under the tunnel and in a few steps come out at the bridge that leads to this main pedestrian street. It travels along the channel with commerce on the left side and the Baltic channel on the right. Most of these historic buildings were once the houses of sea captains and local... More

This is the Old Channel that connected Warnemunde to the Baltic Sea. As you walk along the Alter Strom, you will find lots of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. There are also boats that have been converted into fast food places. It is a very picturesque area where thousands of visitors stroll around. A lot of visitors are from the... More

Part cobblestone walkway, part concrete, on a sunny day it's a treat to walk along seeing the shops, houses, gardens, restaurants, pubs, bars, boutiques, people and cafes. Really had good afternoon.

Only had a brief visit to Warnemunde as we were on a Baltic cruise, but it was a quaint little town with lots of lovely old buildings, shops and bars and restaurants. There is a train station as well as lots of boats trips to do. Well worth a visit.

On another day I would have given this quaint town an excellent place to visit. But with three cruise ships (one with almost 4,000 people) the place was jammed and too crowded for me. People from the ships were pushy and in a hurry, so "strolling" the streets, was not as much fun as it could be on another day.... More

It's certainly worth spending some time here when in Warnemunde. It was extremely busy, but still a nice place to be. There are lots of restaurants and shops if you need a break. Alternatively, its a great place to just go for a stroll.

If you want to mingle with lots of tourists this is the place to go, it is beautiful , quaint, and historic. Lots of boutique shops that are very good for a shopping spree. Boat tours around the harbour, gift shops, a train that does a town tour, boats along the river frying fish very nostalgic a must see to... More
