We were a little less then impressed by the city hall, but were very impressed by the cathedral. Will rate up there in one of the 10 best we have seen in Europe. That is including some great Cathedrals in France, Italy, England, and Spain. Very stunning on the inside as well. Not large, but well worth the trip.

Every time I stay in Aachen I have the desire to step inside this wonderful church for to spend some minutes in contemplation. Though the interior is not the original but was rebuilt in the 19th century, the impression is similar to Byzantine cathedrals i.e. in Italy.

This is a must see in Aachen. It is not as large as some of the other famous cathedrals but, the intricate detail on the inside make this one of my favorites. Free entry to the main portion or, you can pay for a tour and see the throne of Charlemagne.

What a beautiful church. Well worth the time to see this structure. The architecture on the outside was a sight to see, but the interior of the church was just amazing. The amount of work that it must have taken to lay all of those tiles in the ceiling is just unbelievable.

Impressive cathedral with golden fresks. Aachen itself is worth seeing. Especially old town. We loved it there.

A magnificent cathedral , the interior has to be seen to believed. Charlemanges gold burial casket on show. They have a guided tours in English but unfortunately was unable to do as we had prior arrangements. Will definitely make sure I can do it on my next visit.

This place is INCREDIBLE. I took the train from Bonn, (I love the German train system) and because I was traveling so far, i wanted to make sure of the tour times.I took both tours because I wanted to see behind the scenes. Everything went perfectly. The tour was interesting and the guide answered all of our questions very well.... More

I've toured many cathedrals, and this is by far my favorite. It's very unique in design as it's a prime example of Carolinian architecture. The marble work and gold mosaics make it worth the visit. It's free to enter, but a donation to the upkeep is suggested. Also if you plan on taking photos, a small fee is required. This... More
