Even only the main tower remains standing, it is a place with nice views. You are unable to visit the caves during winter and it looks like a worthed visit.

For over a year, I knew I was going to visit Bielefeld as my son was getting married at Sparrenburg. I reviewed many pictures of the castle and was not too impressed. "How can that be called a castle? It has only one tower that...More

We attended a private function at Sparrenburg Castle but arrived in good time to explore. It is perched on a hill overlooking the city and the views are spectacular. It was a lovely late September evening and watching the sun set was memorable. Would recommend...More

Sparrenburg is a medieval defence point, most of which has been destroyed and rebuilt in the last century. Nonetheless this is worth a visit. The view from the top of the tower stretches for miles. A special mention must go to the guided tour of...More

We went on a stunning day. The views of Bielefeld from the top of the castle are really nice. I would go if I had time in Bielefeld, however wouldn’t go out of my way.

It's a great walk up to Sparrenburg castle. Definitely one of the sights to see in Bielefeld. Make sure to go up the main tower, the view is the best around.

Had to go to Sparrenburg while in Bielefeld to have my photo taken sitting at the well in the grounds, to compare with the one I had taken 46 years before. For 2 € you can go up the spiral staircase to the top of...More

On a nice sunny afternoon, a walk up the hill to the Sparrenburg tower affords a wonderful view of the city. Very inexpensive 2 hr tour is well worth listening to and there is fo course the welcome tea, coffe or beer beofre leaving.
