The Botanical Garden, which is led carefully under the guidance of botany students of the RUB is a true delicacy. A big collection of trees, shrubs and flowers from around the world can be seen. Each plant is provided with designation. Particularly attractive in the summer months. The Chinese / Japanese pavilion is a special feast for the eyes. Rest,... More

The Botanical Garden displays plants partly in a systematic way (morphology of plants, economic plants, herbs...) and partly within biotopes (from the alps as well as geobotanic biotopes from Europe, Asia and America) on a large area (13 ha). In different greenhouses (tropics, desert, savanna) plants are cultivated that cannot flourish outside throughout the year (on an area of 3500... More

While botanical gardens are not my normal place to visit, this was truly delightful and as a result, my family and I stayed quite some time.

If you want to enjoy nature and a absolutely peaceful environment for some hours just come and see the garden, take a stroll or simply sit down on a bench and enjoy what you see.

Peaceful and quiet. Well done. Nice visit even in winter. There is not much to do in Bochum but this is one of those nice things to do

The botanical garden has been a refreshing companion at the time of my studies in Bochum. There is not a particular spot I would recommend. Just walking around down the hill to the lake is beautiful. There are many signs to illustrate the plants and recently Q codes have been added to access online material about the place.

Wonderful garden in Bochum south (university). University is easy to reach with U35. Garden is a delight: amazingly great, and freely accessible to all. This is brilliant even for people who do not really love nature. The Chinese garden is also fine to make photos.
