Nice place to walk around for an afternoon

I wandered over to the palace and really enjoyed it. The walk there is peaceful and the place is beautiful. There is not much to see inside, but it is worth the walk.

It is always a pleasure to stroll around Poppelsdorf Palace. It is such a peaceful and beautiful walk. The Palace is a Baroque building and is now part of the University of Bonn and the park was converted to the Botanical Garden of Bonn. A must see when in Bonn.

Poppelsdorf palace and the surrounding area is beautiful. Ideal for a long walk and there's plenty of restaurants/cafe's within a 5 minute walk from there. Definitely a must see if visiting Bonn!

To my disappointment, I did not have enough time to visit Botanical Garden behind the palace so had to be content with quite pleasant stroll along Poppelsdorfer Allee and admiring the beautiful houses around and the palace itself. It was some repair works going on both at the palace and the streets, but I suppose they will be even more... More

We walked to the palace mainly looking for the Botanic Garden, which was there but not open. It's a handsome building, especially from a bit of a distance, a little beat-up up close. However, we a little surprised to find that the palace now seems to be entirely occupied by various offices, and there's nothing to see on the inside.

A part of the Local University, it is part of the gardens and is well worth seeing and taking your time at.

Popplesdorf is a really friendly town. I only visited because i was going to the university hospital. It is only a bus ride away and it was really nice and friendly. Not much to see (apart from the palace which is very grand), but a few nice shops and an amazing bakery. Definitely worth a bus trip if you're in... More

The best thing about this palace was: A. The structure itself. It was truly amazing. B. The botanical gardens that surrounds the palace. The most disappointing aspect of the palace--It is now a University utilized space. It means the space will be utilized for something meaningful. However, what I might have expected to see inside the buildings was not there.... More

It does not matter what time of year you visit, if you get the chance to walk around the Schloss do it. In the summer, you can picnic in the green park area in front. In the autumn/ winter take a stroll up Popplesdorfer Allee. The best way to see it in all its glory is from the square opposite... More

Located in the heart of Bonn is a beautiful palace, Poppelsdorf. This is an 18th century palace features baroque style architecture. The palace is now part of the University of Bonn and is home to their Mineralogical-Petrological Museum. The former palace gardens have been developed into lovely botanical style gardens and are among the oldest in the world. These beautiful... More
