Nice department store

Nice department store in center of town. Basement has a good restaurant and we really like the fact that you can park right below it.

Carsch House used to be one of the finest department stores in Düsseldorf yet shunned by many who never dared set foot falsely believing it was too expensive. It is shut permanently now but will re-open as the first Off Saks 5th Avenue in Germany

My only reason for visiting was the Dusseldorf card. You get a free glass of champagne at the bar with the card. But then since I was there I had a quick bite at the food hall cafeteria and bought Christmas presents from the varied Lindt chocolate collection there. Strangely it's owned by Galeria Kaufhof, a not so upmarket department... More

Built in the beginning of the 20th century, the neoclassical building originally accommodated the Horten Department Store, but now is a part of the Galeria Kaufhof chain. Many brands are present in the store, there's also a good restaurant. If you like to shop, the Carsch-Haus is a good place to be. If you have some time left (or when... More

Good japanese restaurant Maryasu. Spicy has all for your cooking and salads, you can have fine soups and also a lot of elegant things. It's the high quality house from the KAUFHOF group with a lot of small shop-owners. Open every day exept sunday.

The building is appealing, the selection of clothes in the department store nice albeit expensive. The food section on the lower floor was above average. Interesting spices and spice mixtures and many choices for a small meal. The Asian vegetables that we chose were were fresh and stir fried just right. The Chinese noodles, however were slightly over salted.

Carsch-Haus is well known in Düsseldorf. There are many high class brands on several floors. Furthermore, Carsch-Haus has a big "delicatessa" with food all over the world.
