First time Lego theme park visit with my two young kids (3 and 5) and it was a success! A kot of different things to do for everybody! It's definitely recommended to order your tickets online beforehand, you save money and a lot of time getting in. Downsides of the park are that it's all inside so no fresh air no and then and when the kids are older than 10 years old, they'll probably lose interest because of limited challenge of the activities for that age and up. We'll are definitely going back!

School holidays and a what should we do moment.........
Legoland in Oberhausen👍👍👍👍
50 minutes in the car and with parking easy to find it didnt take long before we were queuing up in the reserved online ticket que.
Once through the check in procedure (took rather a long time) and we were into the start of the discovery journey.
Our five year old son loved this place.
The language is definitely German the whole day with not much effort to speak in English or other languages, but for the kids it-does not make the day any less enjoyable.
From the mini lego room to the race corner where all sorts of weird and wonderful designs were being created by inventive kids and dads of course😉😉😉
To the 4d cinema that showed throughout the day six lego films (lego city and lego ninja go) good fun.
The ninja training room was also a big hit.
There was also a lego learning room where the kids could follow a trainer and make certain things.
We were there for about 4.5 hours which was plenty of time to do everything.
Food was ok and not too expensive.
I would recommend to all.

Enjoy.

After standing in a line for 40 minutes to get our tickets, we finally walk through the discovery centre. Lots of attracrions and rides were not open or running. My children stand in the line for 10 minutes for Merlins ride and as they get to the front, they are told its closing for 1 hour 10 minutes and no reason given. It was 11:10 in the morning so not lunch time and certainly not break time seeing as it only opened at 10:00. We then go to the Aventeur Park and all thr main rides are closed, including Shanghai Express, Rutshsterm, M Seegang. We arrive at Goldwash and have rompay an additional fee for the bowl etc., as if the ticket to into the park wasnt enough. The "remote control" boats were broken as was the crane truck in the playground. We paid 96Euro for my husband, myself and 2 children and thunk it wasnt worth it at all. With half the rides and attractions not running, we should have been charged half price. It was extremely disppointed and I would not recommend it at all.

Hello MellyPan7, thank you for your feedback. I would like to answer some questions of yours. During holidys or at the Weekend, we have a large amount of visitors, and our queue time is quite long. We would like to apologize for that. In the centre, we work with alternating operations at the attractions. I am sorry to hear that this is why you could not use Merlins ride. If there is anything I can do for you or if you have further information, please contact me: Oberhausen@legolanddiscoverycentre.de

This "fun" park seems like a sarcastic version of a fun park. While I was there I kept asking myself whether the management of LEGO knows that something like this exists because this "discovery center" is everything but fun.

Many broken off lego pieces and spider webs on the not always working fun games tell the tale. Everything seems so semi-professional that in middle of our visit I wondered whether we were part of one of these surprise shows.

After you wait at the entrance, especially when you preordered your ticket, you have to wait again in front of a "magic" gate. Once the door opens you enter a so called lego pieces construction workshop. First thing you hear before the "Welcome" - Do not touch the buttons! Then after a while you realize that there are no pieces produced at all. You can still see the glue on the Lego pieces on the production line. It is just so fake.
Then there is a ride during which the participants have to shoot with laserpointers at some targets and get some points for that. That was awful! The wooden model trains at home arouse more action and more fun and much more speed than this ride.
Then you get to see some dusty Lego models which might have been nice to look at 20 years ago. After that room you enter the "main hall". There is a playground that looked so exciting that my son did not even want to try it out.
You can build Lego cars and have them race against each other on a ramp. Wow!
The 4d cinema is 4d because wind blows in your face and water is sprayed on you. Your seats do not move, the atmosphere is like watching a football match in a tent at the Oktoberfest and the movie we saw, was more like a commercial for this very same Lego discovery center.
A while after opening, about 20 minutes, the "main hall" was crowded and kids were everywhere. When you wanted to have conversation you had to scream at the top of your lungs.
At every corner you can spend even more money at vending machines that sell popcorn, drinks, stuff, stuff and stuff.
The only thing that is professional at this place is the exit through a giant lego store.
This place is a ripoff. Do not go there unless you want to find out how long you can stand the pain. I have never seen such an unbelievable wreck of a "fun park" or indoor playground.

If you are in the east side of Holland and you want to have quality shopping it is the best to go to cetr0 in the city of Oberhausen Germany
Only 1.5h of driving by car but it is worth it.
The parking is free and easy to park
In the mall you have various fashion things from cheap to high fashion for kids and adults
We liked it - we can for the LEGO and we stayed for the mall

Went there with my wife and 4 kids:

Waited outside in the rain for almost 1 hour (!) to get in.

The inside playgrounds and area's were way too crowded - we had our drinks and snacks sitting on the floor. My kids could hardly play due to the crowdiness inside. The legofilm though was somewhat nice.

I noticed quite some things being broken or defect too - is this business ran by Germans?

The outside: quite some things were closed and I believe we already finished our tour in about 1 hour and 15 minutes. We felt ripped off!

Considering the amount of money I paid we did not get value for money at all.

I sent a decent email outlining our ecperiences, underlined with examples, but never even got an answer - what an arrogance and disrespectfullness to your customers.

Conclusion: An absolute disappointing experience and I would not recommend going there.

They just raised the entrance fee from 17,95 Euro to a dazzling 23,95 Euro.
And what do you get? A lot of Lego blocks and a few small attractions.
We bought the afternoon tickets for 9 Euro and this price is about right, for entrance in any part of the day. Anything higher is just ridiculous for such a small attraction.
We went there with our 2 year old boy and he had a lot of fun, if you are just adults I doubt you would have any fun there.

If you go there book your tickets on-line to save a little on the entrance fee. But on-line booking is restricted to just 2 sorts of international and 1 German credit card. So no credit card, no on-line booking.
As if your are still in the days Lego was invented, have they never heard of PayPal or any other modern means for on-line money transfer?

I'm not going there any more, all in all a disappointing experience.

Dear Garfield62, we are very sorry that your visit was not what you expected. Legoland Discovery Centre is designed as an indoor playground, especially for smaller children. That is also the reason why you can only visit us with at least one child in your group. So it is great to hear that the 2 year old boy had fun in our Centre. Thank you for your advice referring to our online booking System. We will talk about that in our team. If there is anything else you would like to tell us, feel free to contact us: Oberhausen@legolanddiscoverycentre.de

My god a couple of tiny rides and a few boxes of Lego and they charge £17 per person save your money, it's a complete waste of time, you're through the place in 10 minutes in any event! So probably more of a waste of money than a waste of time!

We spent 90 min waiting in line while people where going in...they have a very weird system with tickets bought on line, or priority or group and if you wait to buy a ticket it takes for ever.
Exactly as you are queuing to get in the most popular night club, and you wait 90 min while friends of the owner or the bouncer go in...only this one happens during the day
They need to increase capacity and rearrange the ticket system
