Allow lots of time to get up to the Fortress and explore it as it is so much bigger than you expect and all too easy to end up rushing

We visited the Fortress while on an Emerald River Cruise. The grounds around the fortress are lovely as is the excellent views over the 2 rivers and the city.

Worth the visit to get a view of Koblenz from above the confluence of the rivers, once you eventually find the café on the viewing terrace. First you must negotiate several huge moats, parade grounds, tunnels and dead ends. This place is seriously huge and...More

Made our way up the fortress on the cable car with a group of friends. As we were on a tight timeline to get back to our tour bus we didn't have time to spend looking around the fortress. The views from the fortress looking...More

i was in December and it was after 6 pm and the cable cars were in movement. if you want to visit it i would suggest to get the ticket of 11 euro that includes even the visit inside the museums inside the fortress.
