Danevirke Museum

Thorough and detailed history of events leading up to 1864 BUT only if you speak Danish or German. Lovely situation and a very pleasant restaurant next door!

Visited with a coach tour, which had pre-arranged an excellent guide to give us the story in English, both inside the museum, and along the ramparts. Good insight into living in a border zone, where the Danish and the German identities rub up against each other.

The museum provides a nice overview of the attraction and after that, you can stroll around the fortification wall afterwards. There are some spots where you can still see the actual bricks. Was nominated for the World Cultural Heritage list.
