My favourite place to take a stroll. Lots of cafes nearby and a short walk across the bridge to Radisson Blu where I was staying. The cruise boats for a lake tour and hop-on hop-off tours depart from this location very frequently. Very convenient & relaxing.

This street runs along the River Trave which in medieval times was a European superport. Some old and some restored warehouse line the river and old fortified bridges still cross it. All points are in walking distanceof the city centre.

Start from this road and cross the city. Opposite side of city is very quiet and farm. Wallstrase, bridge and park along the canal is beautiful. Cross the bridge of wallstrase and take a walk a park along the canal to the north. Cross bridge again and return to the center of the city. Turn right and go toward the... More

As you approach the Holstentor from the town center, there is canal with roads on both side. Its best to start with the left side and then cross over the footbridge to the other side and keep walking along the canal besides rows of beautiful houses and reach the Holstentor again. We saw people catching fish in the river, watched... More

A lot of people visiting Lubeck often get trapped into rushing from one old/restored building to the next; some eventually retreat to shopping. There are other options. You can walk along the An der Obertrave and associated paths along the water for far, far longer distances than you would image, and there is a lot to see. Such things of... More

Took this walk on a sunny afternoon and were really stunned by the calm relaxed atmosphere in the area. There are many nice places in Lubeck, but in my view Obertrave is the best. If too warm you can sit down and enjoy a drink in one of the nice outdoor restaurants

You start this walk at the bridge at the Holstentor, turning to the right side. There are a lot of attractive Houses alongside the river. Some have restaurants and cafes with terraces at the river. There is a place where ships startshort cruises around the old town. When you walk further along you see more nice houses, and also little... More
