The old city, which is listed by Unesco as a World Heritage site, is called the “Venice of the Baltic”. Although compact, located on an island surrounded by the Trave river, it is an interesting place to visit with its well-preserved medieval buildings and towering...More

Unfortunately Lubeck old town was destroyed after WWII. Now you can have very pleasant walk in the historic center. Many buildings are carefully restored and re-built.

We had an excellent guide who walked us around the old town in freezing temperatures. The history of Lubeck is very interesting and some of the buildings which remain after the war are very beautiful.

Visited the old town on a day trip from Hamburg (about 40 minutes on the train). Highly recommended ... really beautiful Hanseatic town with added poignancy given much of it has been painstakingly restores after WWII. Amazing Dutch gabled buildings and sympathetic modern additions. Great...More

No memory of entrance fee, we are always happy to pay entrance fees knowing how expensive it is to maintain and staff. I would consult website for specifics. Hope you have a safe trip.
