Try and sit inside one of the small cublcles where the widows of German seafarers lived in their old age. It was warm, comfy, secure and social with all the neighbors around you. And you got food as well. Since before America got its constitution...!...More

It is a lovely building and the great hall was amazing, but other than that there is only a couple of small rms to see. I walked around to the side and there were several restaurants and businesses.

This is a former hospital and the entrance area is beautifully restored. We opened the doors and stepped into another page of this picture book town. Make sure you do too.

It was the first Hospital in Europe which did NOT belong to the Church, but to the Citizens of Lubeck. The facade is most impressive,but visitors are allowed to the entrance Hall only.
