If you come in Lubeck you cannot do not stop and admire this big and beautiful cathedral. Inside there is a magnificent and big organ and listen to the music coming from it is an amazing experience.

This place is wonderful because of many things!! First, it is one of the oldest churches I have ever visited! The acoustics are amazing; I sang in the church while standing by the altar. Definitely worth a visit!!

Let me explain the title: A cathedral is always impressive by history, the large size of buildings and part f the city - and the church organ had live music (at the time) so the atmosphere was solemn - but ... The building is not...More

Lubeck Cathedral is a lovely building, one of the red brick Gothics, but painted white on the inside. Lovely organ and 14th century crucifix.

Fortunately there were very few tourists so we could meander and enjoy the interior from different perspectives without being jostled. The crucifix over the main altar is magnificently constructed. In its simplicity there is great peace inside the church. Whitebeard83

It is worth a visit if you like to visit churches/cathedrals. During our visit it was undergoing restoration but you can still visit the cathedral without problems.

The fallen bells still laying there crushing through the floor ... so sad and reflecting the sad war torn past of this city. The starkness of the building gave it a serene beauty.

The cathedral has been restored after the wartime bomb damage. It is a beautiful building. Many of the boards explaining the statues etc were in English.

Lubeck cathedral [dom] is on the southern border of the old town, gothic in style and very peacefull and serene. the huge scale of the place makes it seem austere. the green courtyard with the ancient tree and surrounding church buildings add to the atmosphere.
