Enjoy the old streets and houses. A visit to the church and the cemetery is interesting – especially if you have been able to study the special history and traditions of the quarter of the town.

We skipped the museum and went straight to the Globushaus to see the Gottorfer Globus. It's about a 10 minute walk north of the castle and separate entry fee (7€ adult including audio tour). Even though the globe is a replica of the original, it...More

It was a nice walk around the castle. Inside you can spend hours if you are up to it and gave the time. A lot of history on several floors and rooms.

Excuisite collection of antiquities. Especially the Nydam ship (315 a.c.) is worth the visit. Well described and explained with many recent findings and insights.
