This was a very sweet experience in Weimar. I discovered this church with friends, and was surprised to see the lack of tourists at this charming attraction. Entrance to this church is only €1 euro, which goes towards its preservation. A steep walk upstairs a few floors (but bearable!), and you get to the top. While the view is only... More

The graveyard of this church is the final resting place of many famous people who lived in Weimar so it is worth getting the photocopied sheet about the graveyard to find them all. It is difficult to miss the mausoleum where Schiller was first put before his body disappeared but one can also find Goethe's wife. The church itself is... More

Take the climb up, as high as you dare, from narrow wooden steps to vertical ladders. The view was worth it if you don't mind the flies.

This is the cemetery of Jakobskirch, it dates back to the 12th century. It is full of famous graves including Goethe's wife Christiane. It is a beautiful place to visit, especially on a snowy day.
