This is a must for anyone, even if you don't speak German. For those who, like me, have half a degree in German (or more) it's been on my bucket list all my life. It is expensive (€12.50) but worth it (it includes headphones, available...More

The house of Goethe is still in the condition as if he had left it just to get to his beloved restaurant nearby, the "white swan". That was very impressive but the exhibition about him, his work, his life and the time he lived in...More

An absolute must in town is Goethe’s hose and museum. You really get an insight into This great, versatile personality by seeing his home and some of his collections. Particularly the museum is excellent. You will nede to spend about 2 hours here

The museum has been retained in safe hands after Goethe's death; so all artefacts have been kept intact. So is the building itself. This shows that Goethe is an indispensable part of German soul. The artefacts by themself are not of exceptional artistic or historical...More

I decide to stop in Weimar on my road trip from Frankfurt to Berlin. The town of Weimar is very quaint and Goethe does take Center stage with tourism built around it. The museum or haus is located in the town Center and is fairly...More

Main attraction is to see his house where he spent many years in Weimar and getting a sense of the vast collections of things he made to inspire his thinking and writing. There is art, biological specimens, copies of sculpture from ancient Italy, minerals etc...More
