Visited Weimar and went to the Summer house. The House had some important little artifacts in it and is a proper museum dedicated to Goethes. The garden with the house is a real gem, nicely planted and laid out. You wouldn't believe it's only a...More

After three hours in the Goethehaus the next logical step was a walk through the park to his garden house. Yes, it is worth the entrance fee, which includes an audio guide. You really feel his presence here. A lot of stuff is original, as...More

The park is really nice to walk especially beside Sternbruecke (Star bridge). There is the Ilm river and during summer is a nice place to chill out.

Went on a walk through the park to find this and after a while we managed to! Lovely to see a historical building in such great condition and in such a beautiful spot. Well worth a visit as the park is divine.

It is a postcard house and garden on the edge of a beautiful park. Reading other reviews I realize that I should have gone into the house. People were standing outside the house listening to a tour guide and I assumed we couldn't go in....More

This small country house is just a ten-minute walk through pleasant woodland from the centre of town. It comes into sight as soon as you cross the river. It is a modest building, consisting of just five small rooms, including Goethe’s study, bedroom and lounge....More

This very modest house (most decent farmhouses of the period were bigger; compare to Mary Arden's - Shakespeare's mother's - house in Stratford, that is 200 years older) occupies the most scenic lot in Germany. Which says that Goethe had marvelous taste, and, as the...More
