We were in luck; usually the Alcazar isn't open on Mondays, but due to a holiday, it was. We visited in the early morning right when it opened and it didn't get crowded until we left. The fort contains several mosaics from the Roman era,...More

We had a guided tour and our guide provided information we would not have, had we visited by ourselves. To me, knowing the history behind all the palaces, gardens, etc, makes a difference. Beautiful, a must see.

Beautiful grounds, flowers, fountains and gardens. Beautifully designed and full of colour. We spent 1.5 hours but could have browsed for longer. Unfortunately you cannot buy tickets on line so have to queue. We arrived at 10am when it opened and we're fortunate to only...More

Beautiful gardens, so serene - good to see the fortress tower too. Close to centre- calm inside away from the tourist exterior.

We chose to visit in the morning when the queue was tiny. It made climbing the tower steps easier too. The views of Córdoba were magnificent, we were able to watch the horses at exercise in the Royal stables, wonderful from above. The gardens were...More

Not much of the building but great views from the towers and a room of interesting mosaics. Gardens were splendid, well laid out with avenues of trees, fountains, pools and pretty flower beds. Even with quite a few visitors the gardens were tranquil. A very...More

Well worth a visit & should be up there with the Mezquita as a 'must do' on visiting the city. These are truly wonderful gardens especially at this time of year (May). Not a lot inside but it is worth climbing the tower for wonderful...More

The building is interesting and there are splendid Roman Mosaics virtually perfectly intact in one of the halls. The terraced gardens are very beautiful and to enjoy them in peace it is best to go when the Alcazar opens at 8-30 am

We visited this place on a Sunday and stood in line for almost an hour. Not worth the lineup for us as the Alhambra was much nicer. I would recommend visiting here only if there is a short line. Admission price is reasonable, though.

There was no queue when we were there in the morning. I saw more people in the afternoon, but nothing compare to Seville. I don't think you need to pre book.
