The Palace of Viana is a lived house until the end of 20th century by noble families but with a great popular flavor instead. One of its main attractiveness are the "patios" and the garden that make it be known as Museum of the Patios. Indoor and outdoor are perfectly integrated, giving to the palace an original harmony. Among the collections stand out paintings, tapestries, leather and ceramic tiles among others.

We initially visited for the courtyard gardens (patios) but the palace tour was very interesting and enjoyable too. Visiting inside the palace is only possible with a guide (included in the entry price for the palace) and it is only conducted in Spanish but it is worth going and they have a thorough brochure in English that you can read... Thank you for your opinion. It´s a pleasure for us that people who don´t speak spanish can enjoy the interior of the Palace. Maybe told in a different way, what the guide says it´s the same that is written in the brochure. We hope to see you here again and maybe with an english tour! More

The patios were full of flowers and bergamot oranges when we visited in the first week of April. Glorious! We took the tour of the upstairs apartments - although the guide spoke in Spanish he provided a leaflet in English which helped a lot. Altogether a wonderful afternoon.

we were in March when blooming was just starting, so i guess the best time to visit should be later in the season when greenery is enriched and flowers are in full bloom. But still all 12 courtyards are different, some older, some recently added. You get a map and an audio guide. The video is presented at the end... More

If you enjoy flowers and gardens then don't miss out on a visit to Palacio Viana. We visited at the end of March and maybe not the best time to visit but the patios are just delightful.Guided tours available or just go it alone and take a look at the shop as they have some very nice gifts .

We arrived at 2:50, and bought tickets for the 3:30 tour of the castle. In the mean time, we wandered through the absolutely beautiful gardens. Each one so full of color and fragrance; really very lovely! My son tripped and injured himself as we were returning to the meeting place for the tour, so we had to clean and bandage... More

We apologize for the inconvenience you suffered visiting Palace of Viana. It´s difficult to control the visit time. Not all the clocks are in time! Even ours! We try to be punctual, although it´s not always posible. But there is no reason to make feel embarrased our visitors, so I suposse it was not the intention of our guide. Even... More

The interior was shut for a private photo shoot when we arrived, which left the gardens to see. They were ok, but there were no seats and I felt hounded round by a unruly family whose sole interest was in flicking water from the fountains over each other and anyone else who happened to be there. There were no staff... More

In my opinion, the best thing to see in Cordoba, better even than the Mezquita (praise indeed), though it is somewhat out of the way. The succession of outdoor patios are stunning, colourful and peaceful (apart from loads of families having first Holy Communion pictures). Other recent reviews don't seem to mention the house itself, which can be toured for... More

We had a morning in Cordoba with no plans and so went and checked this out. Sure glad we did! The courtyards and gardens are stunning. Well worth the cost of entry! Had such a wonderful time wandering around in this peaceful place. Beautiful flowers even in March and so well kept!

The Palacios Museo de Viana had a lovely selection of patios and gardens in the typical style of Córdoba. No surprise this place was very popular with lots of local kids taking photos for their communion. Definitely recommended.

If you enjoy beautiful courtyards with intricate rock work, fountains, myriad plants and tranquil bird song, you had better visit Palacio Museo de Viana. It's a peaceful place to escape the heat and enjoy the combined artistry of humans and the natural world. Well worth a visit.
