Gateway through the old city walls of Cordoba. Nice enough but not an attraction in its own right - more a nice historic access you walk through to get into the old town.

The best way to enter into the old Jewish quarter. The most beautiful thing is the fountain which is just outside the door. It is completely surrounded by beautiful flowers and provide a nice place where to sit and relax during the hot days.

Puerta del Almodovar is one of several gates which give access to the historical centre and this one leads to the Jewish Quarter.

The walled part of the historic city center is well preserved. On your way along the fortification, you will pass the lovely Puerta del Almodóvar.

The true is that there is no shortage of interesting places in Cordoba. This is one of the many areas where a visitor must stop for a while and try to feel the history and the beauty of the ancient city.

There are better gates to see but I guess after a long walk in the Jewish quarter everything looks spectacular. Near the gate is the statue of Seneca, another great man from this city.

The fact that you can find this fountain in the middle of the city, surrounded by flowers and flanked by the old city walls and the gate, is something like magical. Try and visit at sunset when the lights are being turned on. The place...More

This is the entrance to the Jewish quarter, with its beautifully paved streets. Another addition to Cordoba's charm and beauty.

From the train station, I walked through the Jardines de la Victoria and arrived here, which is the entrance gate to the Jewish quarter. The ancient arch and gate are imposing and beautiful for photo taking. Just in front of the gate entrance is a...More
