Watch tower from the eighteenth century, situated in the down town and the highest point of the city, turned today into a focal point of cultural interest. The tower has two exhibition halls, the Camera Obscura and the terrace from which you can enjoy wonderful views of CádizIts Cámara Obscura was the first one installed in Spain.

€5 to go to the top for fabulous open air views of Cadiz. If a sunny day don’t miss it. Worth the money.

We visited the Torre Tavira to experience a camera obscura in person. The views were wonderful and the experience of being ;inside' a camera was very interesting. There were quite a few floors to climb (173 steps I think) but it was well worth the...More

Great wiew over Cadiz from the top of the tower but really more interesting was the Camera obscure with perfect over wire over the town and with a good guide to point out the places to visit.

I had only a short time to climb the tower and get back down and on with other activities. It's not the most difficult climb but a bit of a huffer-puffer for us old folk (70 years in my case). Fortunately there are places to...More

We did the Torre Tavira as we hadn't done any other rooftop tours such as the Cathedral. It cost about 6 euros each to go up and have a look around at the skyline and although they advertise other things to view in rooms as...More

Climbing up the tower is a great exercise and offers you a perfect view over the whole city of Cadiz. Don't miss the "Camera Obscura" demonstration with a lot of information and funny anecdotes of the city.

Our son was desperate to climb up the tower so once we had found it he raced up whilst my husband and myself stayed firmly outside. It took him about half an hour to go up[ and down as there was a queue to climb...More

Fun thing to do. Great views at the top of the tower and the added attraction of the camera obscura. Reasonably priced and easy to find.

Great view from here, up an incline rather than many steps so do-able if mobility problems not too extreme. There's a fine 360 degree view than great to share with fellow tourists and its worth the effort.. Its on the Cathedral ticket so no extra...More

Cadiz is famous for its ‘Watchtowers’. In the 18th century, there were 160 towers from which local merchants could look out to sea in, for arriving merchant ships. Today, there are approximately 129 preserved towers of different architectural styles, heights and sizes remaining. The Torre...More

They seem to run very frequently I'd say about every 30 minutes, but the problem is that it may not be in your language every 30 minutes. Although this would not be ideal I still think you'd enjoy the camera obscura. No need... More
