2000 years old but apparently just recently unearthed and the full museum and walking route through the tunnels just recently opened. Really interesting history and good displays in the museum. Free,

We were keen to better understand the role that the Romans played in Spain, and the museum area here was informative and helpful. They are restoring the theatre, which has been damaged in the past, but I would still recommend visiting.

Worth visiting, particularly as it's free to see how the original looked as I believe some of it has flat built on the site.

They did a superb job building a modern museum around the ruins. A short and sweet experience. It is also free on Mondays so was a bonus for us!

Perhaps because I have visited Roman Theatre's in Greece and other parts of Spain that were very impressive, this one fell flat for me.. It was recently discovered in 1980 and it looks like a cursory excavation was done to give you a general idea...More

This ancient Roman theatre was only discovered in the 1980's I think. Access is through a museum "teatro Romano de Cadiz" which is not sign posted and has a tiny sign so you may miss it like I did. Luckily , my brilliant walking tour...More

This is free for EU citizens as many historic places appear to be in Spain, so that is already an initial reason to go! The entry may be difficult to find as it is down some tight streets slightly away from the google maps location....More

The city has done a wonderful job in bringing these ruins back so that they are visible. A free museum allows you to see them, very worthwhile for a visit.
